What are the pros and cons of Wide Angle Lens on a digital camera.?

I’m looking to buy a new digital camera soon and want to know some pros and cons of them. Also are megapixels everything when it comes to quality? Any kind you like too is also fine. I’m leaning towards Samsung, and Sony.

A wide angle lens refers to the fact that it it will show more of the scene in front of you. This is in contrast to a telephoto lens, which will give shots that are “zoomed in”. Wide angles are good for landscape shots, group shots, architecture shots, and shots indoors. They’re bad for wildlife shots, sports shots, or any other shot where you’re forced to be far away.

Megapixels don’t really mean much. Anything above 6mp is sufficient. Look for a well-known brand (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Olympus). Physically larger lenses will also help quality. Your cell phone camera could be 53mp but it has a tiny, plastic lens and thus has crappy photos.
