why does my pentax optio keeps turning off?
i have a pentax optio a30 digital camera and 5 seconds after turing it on it turns it self off for no reason, the battery is charged and last time i used it at christmas it worked, it has benn looked after so there is no real reason why this should happen, does any body have any ideas?
it turns off strait after i turn it on, but i am able to turn it on again after and the battery is showing as full so i dont think its that, i have already checked the manual as well, maybe its just broke?
It really does sound like a battery problem to me. The battery indicator always shows full when you first turn it on, after a second or two it will show the correct state once it has actually measured it, and your camera is not giving the camera enough time to do that.
If possible try a battery that you know to be good. Clean the battery contacts with an eraser, may be the contacts are just oxidized, you may have accidentally touched the contacts, this always leaves an oily deposit on them.
