best photography camera 700 and under?

im looking for a nice photography camera hat is under 700 dollars?
700 is pushing it though.
im willing to buy some off craigslist or ebay aswell, and i live in nyc if that helps.

how about the d5000? i love that!

Recommend the D5000. It has an articulating lcd which you will come to realize it would be hard to do without. Great camera. This is a $700 camera + tax. I would recommend that you not buy through ebay or craigslist. There are reputable dealers in NYC such a B&H and Adorama. Watch out walking into one of the many stores there that you NOT buy a graymarket camera. Graymarket means cameras without US warranty. They are cheaper because of this “problem”.
