Do you swoon at the thought of breath-stealing views from 1000 meters above Catalonia? If you answered yes, then an extreme-sports adventure in Barcelona will be everything you have dreamed of.

Does the thought of free-falling forty meters above a river excite you? Can you picture yourself tethered at the ankles to a bungee cord? Then bridge jumping in Barcelona may be your sport. In the wine region of Penedes, you can experience bridge jumping at its most extreme. This adventure is offered every day of the year and is just 1.5 hours drive from Barcelona. You will be thoroughly trained in safety and technique before you make your jump. Is one bridge enough? No. That is why you get to experience two bridge jumps.

In the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains lies Lleida. LLeida is a secluded town with charm and a laid back personality. That is until you hit the river! There you can experience a beautiful, 14 km, 1.5 hour, wild and wet, whitewater rafting ride, guaranteed to quench your adventurous desire. You’ll be outfitted with wet suit, life jacket, helmet, and shoes. You will be given a safety course, driven ten minutes to the start, and then be let loose on the adventure of your life. Once the trek is over you can enjoy a leisurely swim while you catch your breath and muse over your accomplishment.

Mush is your command! In the snow-covered Valleys of Andorra is a one-of-a-kind adventure that combines break-neck speed with the adventurous call of Nordic Huskies. Take your turn at commanding a team of sled dogs as the bitter-cold wind freezes your sure-to-be grin on your face. You will receive instruction from some of the world’s finest dog sled instructors as well as receive a history lesson on the sport as well as the area of Andorra. Dress warmly for this 1.5 hour adventure and be sure to pack extra clothing.. This adventure is offered December through April; seven days a week.

High above Girona, just outside of Barcelona, floats an adventure never to be forgotten. The ride of your life awaits you.

You will soar over 1000 meters above the beautiful Barcelona countryside in a hot air balloon. After your introductory training session, you will be whisked away in your balloon as your captain points out features of this wonderful country. Afterwards you will be treated to dinner and awarded a Balloon Flight Certificate. This adventure is available all year long. Don’t forget your camera.

If soaring instead of floating is more to your liking, you will enjoy paragliding over the Barcelona hillsides. Your instructor will guide you through all you need to know as a member of a tandem paragliding team. Be prepared for breath-taking views, exhilarating dives, and one-of-a-kind memories. This adventure is available year round.

Adventure is never far from Barcelona. It is found from the beautiful beaches of Costa Brava to the awe-inspiring views of the Pyrenees Mountains. All that is needed is willingness to experience and a drive to conquer; Barcelona provides the rest. Be sure to check the weather conditions before heading out to your adventure. Some sports such as skiing, dog sledding, snow boarding will obviously require snow, but sometimes too much snow will cause cancellations of some of these activities. You will also want to dress appropriately and take extra clothing.
