Do Canon EOS film lenses work on a new digital Canon 450D camera?
I’m about to buy a new Canon EOS 450D digital camera, and my dad has old EOS film lenses that he is going to give me. Would they work on the new digital camera? and is there anyway to check and see if they do? (e.g. a symbol? etc.) and is there anyway to adapt them to work with digital ones if they do not work?

Yes your dad’s older lenses will work on your 450D.
One benefit will be that since the lenses for his Film Camera were designed to cast an image circle that covered a 35mm film frame, you’ll only be using the center part of the image circle on the smaller sensor – what’s known as the “sweet spot” of the lens.
Another benefit is that if you ever upgrade to a full-frame sensor camera like the 5D Mark II your older film lenses will still work just fine.
