Question about computer. Word 2007.?

I have a new Gateway laptop with Vista. Whenever I try and print a file from MS Word 2007 that has a background, It shrinks the background and prints it repeatedly throughout the page. The text doesnt ever change, just the background. BTW, I looks fine of the screen, it just changes whenever I print it out. Is there a problem with my printer (It prints things like this fine from my other computer with has an older version of word) or a problem with my computer, and how do I fix it?

It's not a problem with Word 2007 directly because I had the exact same problem with Word 2003. I use Word 2007 all the time and it works for me on my printer at home. Word 2003 on one printer works fine but on another printer doesn't work. Very interesting.

I have an HP and believe me, I tried everything to resolve this. No luck. My only suggestion is to check for updated drivers.

To get around this you can avoid using the background settings and instead do the stuff manually. Just do an Insert and select Shapes, select the rectangle and make the rectangle as big as the page, then colour the background as you see fit. The secret is once you have done this, click anywhere on the box, go to the Arrange group, click on the tiny arrow beside "Send To Back" and select "Send Behind Text". It's a tad more tedious but it works.
