Samsung E900: Style With Substance

The Samsung E900 is another winner from the stables of world’s most ‘stylish’ handset manufacturer. One can describe it as ‘yet another slider’ from the Samsung mobile phone factory but the detail lies in the detail and the moment you think about ignoring it, you might miss the whole essence of the handset. The E900 is a new age communication device but the scope of this handset goes beyond simple telecommunication. This one device integrates a digital camera and a fabulous multimedia player besides the mobile phone that it is!

To analyse the E900 further we can take the display and the imaging as the starting point. The TFT display unfurls 256,000 colours in your life and is worth 240×320 pixels. This QVGA display complements the powerful 2 megapixels digital camera. The camera is accompanied by a 4x digital zoom and LED flash that helps the user to capture pictures and videos of those moments which matter. The external photo effects/frames just make the ‘shooting’ experience bit more enjoyable.

The internal memory of 80MB is good enough to store video of close to an hour and it can still be stretched by using microSD Memory Cards. This data reservoir comes in handy if music is the driving factor in your life. The media player is one of the best in the market and supports most of the popular media formats like MP3, ACC, ACC+, e-AAC+, and WMA. But despite these high quality specs the most talked about feature of the handset remain the touch sensitive keys.

The presence of touch sensitive keys will inevitably lead to comparison with LG’s Chocolate phone. But it requires just a single glance on the comparative specs sheet and you will know which handset is superior in terms of specifications. Although personally I like the looks of LG Chocolate more but that is just a matter of personal choice and that certainly doesn’t mean that the Samsung E900 is an average looking handset. Actually far from it, the Samsung E900 is one of the best looking phones that Samsung unveiled in 2006. So if Samsung qualifies for the position of being the first amongst equals then this should be enough for most fashion conscious people to buy this. For the rest I’ve listed enough above!
