Looking at the present scenario, everyone wants to get clicked and make it public. Based upon the fact ‘If you have it, you flaunt it’, using digital cameras are everybody’s cup of tea now, orkut or facebook are evidence for this. These photography devices are also known as digicam or cameras for short distance. With the coming of Sony, Samsung and similar company cameras, its very easy to use for taking videos or still photographs. Also one can capture digitally by recording images through an electronic image sensor.

In addition to this many compact digital still cameras have the technology to record sound and moving video and still photographs as well. In foreign market, various digital cameras are known to outsell their 35 mm film counterparts. There are various exclusive features and qualities that these digital cameras can do as compared to film cameras. To name a few:

Displaying images on the screen immediately once they are captured
Storing a large number of images on a single small memory device
Recording video with sound
Able to delete images to free storage space
Able to crop pictures
Good performance in various other elementary image editing.
They operate just like the film cameras by using a lens with a variable diaphragm so as to focus light onto an image pickup device
The working combination of the diaphragm and a shutter mechanism is utilized to insert the correct amount of light to the imager just like it is with the film but the only difference is that the image pickup device is very much electronic rather than being chemical

Companies like Panasonic, Fujifilm and Kodak and others offer the most visually appealing array of digital cameras at best prices. The most striking feature of these cameras is at that these perfectly meet the industry quality standards are thereby seen being sold like hot cakes in the market. Considering that the present race of human being is very techno savvy, Sony, Panasonic and other cameras being in demand are no big surprise. Further, it can be used in a web page or sent in the form of a file attachment via an e-mail message. The images so taken can be cropped or edited using a graphics program, for example Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. No Film in My Camera

No Film in My Camera

$77.99

Why would you purposefully shoot scenes with no film in your camera? To find the answer, you will need to read this memoir, in which internationallyknown Director/Cameraman Bill Gibson recounts some of his most exciting assignments of the past six decades. His career as a combat cameraman propelled him through World War II with the Navy, the Korean Conflict with the Air Force, and to Vietnam as a civilian on assignment with the U.S. Marines. His stories begin with the harrowing retelling of a kamikaze and torpedo attack against the USS Hornet (the Aircraft Carrier that brought the Doolittle Raiders within striking distance of the Japanese homeland) and continue through time and across space, taking the reader on a rollicking ride through history as told through one mans camera. Gibson offers up riots in Indonesia, uprisings in Africa, and coverage of world leaders that reads like a twentiethcentury whos who: FDR, Harry Truman, Gen. Douglas MacArthur, Charles Lindbergh, Albert Schweitzer, DeGaulle, John F. Kennedy, Reagan, and many others. He also provides insights into the frustrations and triumphs of Americas space program, from his vantage point as a consultant to NASA on the photographic coverage of Apollo 11. In No Film in My Camera, Gibson brings all of these scenes to life, not only with his photography, but also with detail and emotion. Author: Gibson, Bill/ Lousma, Jack R. Instant Film

Instant Film

$98.77

Instant film is a type of photographic film first introduced by Polaroid that is designed to be used in an instant camera (and, with accessory hardware, with many professional film cameras). The film contains the chemicals needed for developing and fixing the photo, and the instant camera exposes and initiates the developing process after a photograph has been taken. In earlier Polaroid instant cameras the film is pulled through rollers which breaks open a pod containing a reagent that is spread between the exposed negative and receiving positive sheet. This film sandwich develops for a predetermined time, depending on film type and ambient temperature, after which the positive sheet is peeled away from the negative to reveal the developed photo. In 1972, Polaroid introduced integral film, which incorporated timing and receiving layers to automatically develop and fix the photo without any intervention from the photographer. Instant film is available in sizes from 24 mm x 36 mm (similar to 135 film) up to 20 x 24 size, with the most popular film sizes for consumer snapshots being approximately 31/4 x 41/4 (the image itself is smaller as it is surrounded by a bord Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 132 Publication Date: 2010/10/31 Language: English Dimensions: 9.02 x 5.98 x 0.31 inches

Precursors of Film

Precursors of Film

$109.93

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Film as an art form grew out of a long tradition of literature, storytelling, narrative drama, art, mythology, puppetry and shadow play. In addition, the technology of film emerged from developments and achievements much further back in human history. With possible prehistoric origin due to it occurring naturally, the camera obscura was used and described by Anthemius of Tralles, Alhazen in his Book of Optics (1021), and near the year 1600, it was referred to by Johannes Kepler and perfected by Giambattista della Porta. Light is inverted through a small hole or lens from outside, and projected onto a surface or screen, creating a projected moving image, indistinguishable from a projected high quality film to an audience, but it is not preserved in a recording. Tarkovsky, in Andrei Rublev, pays homage to this film precursor by including a camera obscura via a hole in the door of a medieval room. Musical Film

Musical Film

$101.96

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The musical film is a film genre in which several songs sung by the characters are interwoven into the narrative. The songs are used to advance the plot or develop the films characters, but some musical films (e.g.Down Argentine Way) simply plop the songs in as unrelated specialties as with Carmen Mirandas numbers. A subgenre of the musical film is the musical comedy, which includes a strong element of humour as well as the usual music, dancing and storyline. The musical film was a natural development of the stage musical. Typically, the biggest difference between film and stage musicals is the use of lavish background scenery which would be impractical in a theater. Musical films characteristically contain elements reminiscent of theater; performers often treat their song and dance numbers as if there is a live audience watching. In a sense, the viewer becomes the deictic audience, as the performer looks directly into the camera and performs to it. Milk is a 2008 American biographical film on the life of gay rights activist and politician Harvey Milk, who was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Directed by Gus Van Sant and written by Dustin Lance Black, the film stars Sean Penn as Milk and Josh Brolin as Dan White. The film was released to much acclaim and earned numerous accolades from film critics and guilds. Ultimately, it received eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, winning two for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Penn and Best Original Screenplay for Black. Attempts to put Milks life to film followed a 1984 Oscarwinning documentary of his life and the aftermath of his assassination, titled The Times of Harvey Milk, which was loosely based upon Randy Shiltss biography, The Mayor of Castro Street. Various scripts were considered in the early 1990s, but projects fell through for different reasons, until 2007. Much of Milk was filmed on Castro Street and other locations in San Francisco, including Milks former storefront, Castro Camera. Press Camera

Press Camera

$73.28

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A press camera is a medium or large format camera suitable for use by press photographers. Press cameras most commonly employ the 45 inch film format. Models have also been produced for the 2.253.25 inch format (69 cm), and various 120 film formats from 66 cm. through 612 cm. European press cameras, such as the Goertz and Van Neck, used the 9x12cm format, marginally smaller than the 4 5 format. The press camera is still in wide use in photoreportage and among fine art photographers who use it as a low cost more compact alternative to a view camera. Advances in film technology, notably finer film grain, have obviated the need for largeformat cameras for most press assignments, however. In news photography, the press camera has been largely supplanted by the smaller formats of 120 film and 135 film, and more recently by digital cameras.
