will canon EOS 400d lens of 18-55mm fit 52mm UV filter?

because i just bought my slr, and i want to buy another cheaper-brand of macro + Wide Angle Lens made in japan from the internet, but i dont know it will fit my cam. i dont wanna get cheated. the person said his lens will fit to 52mm lens and 52mm UV filter.
the seller said, his lens will fit to my cam lens if a UV52mm fits my lens cam also. because he have 52mm macro + wide lens. & will canon EOS 400d lens of 18-55mm fit 52mm UV filter?

A lens, or a filter? I thought the kit lens can use 58 mm filter (look at the engraving on the front).

If you’re trying to get a “lens” that goes on another lens, like one made for a point and shoot camera, save your money. You might as well use a Coke bottle, or an ice cube. You have a good camera, get a good, real lens for it.

If you don’t want to spend that much money, try the 3rd party lens, Tamron, Sigma, Tonika, etc.
