Is there a point in buying this lens? (28-135mm)?

So as of today I own my 18-70mm kit and 28-300mm hyper-zoom lens for my Sony A300, but I was looking at some more lenses on ebay and have found a few good deals on 28-135mm… that range is already covered in my 28-300mm lens but I was wondering if having a smaller magnification factor on the 28-135mm will significantly improve image quality? the 28-300mm is still sort of a pain to drag around with you, but would buying this lens be worth the $$?

PS also same question about a 19-35mm… will it be a large improvement over the 18mm wide range of the kit lens?

Oh yeah these would be off-brand lenses, as a college student I can’t really afford to spend $800 on a lens
I could step down from 3.8 to 3.5… but I don’t think that would make any real difference really…

There is no reason to have a complete overlap like that unless it has a much wider aperture. If the kit is F4 then a F2.8 might be worth the overlap. Otherwise no.
