Loading pictures from old diskettes to CD/DVD?

Okay, I have hundreds of diskettes with pictures on them, back from my old Sony Mavica digital camera. I want to toss the diskettes, and finally learn to put them all out on DVD’s, (I presume, please inform me if should be done differently), so that I can categorize them, and sort for photo album creation. I’m using Corel Photo Album as the software, but I’ve accidently purchased Music song CD’s and haven’t a clue what CD’s or DVD’s what you call them to use. Please help. I can’t exchange the CD’s, so I’m stuck with the incorrect ones that I bought, they don’t work for pictures. This is a DIY project which will take me quite a few weekends, and I’m honestly clueless how to get it all together. Thanks!

First of all, as you already noticed, those music CD would not fit for what you need. But if you don’t mind to spare one, you can try it as well.
You need blank Data CDs or DVDs. You might need just a CD instead of DVD, depends on the size and numbers of your pictures. these days, blank cds are pretty cheap, try to buy some brand names, doesn’t matter much, but usually better then no names.
For software it’s up to you. There are a lot of options for processing pictures, so, what you have I think is more than enough. Just play around, read the documentation for what you need.
