with a 7.1 megapixel digital camera, how much recording time will i have on a 16GB sd card?

at 640 by 480 resolution how many hours will i get?

It entirely depends on which particular make and model of camera you have. Because all camera brands are different. How many megapixels it has, has no bearing on it's video recording time.

As an example...a Canon compact camera can record approx. 8 minutes of high quality video (640x480 @ 30fps) per 1GB. The newest models allow more recording time.

And...a Nikon compact camera can record approx. 14 minutes of high quality video per 1GB.

So, you can see that your recording time varies from camera to camera.

You really should have a look in your User Manual...it will give you some idea of how much recording time you get.
