Do all VR lens for Nikon twitch?

So I mainly use 2 lens for my Nikon D40, and that is a 18-55mm non VR lens and 55-200 VR lens.
I noticed whenever I use my 55-200 VR lens, after i released the shutter button for the picture, the mirror would shake a little. And my other lens, 18-55 non VR lens wouldn’t. Now, I don’t know if this is a VR lens thing or if it’s just defected. What do your VR lens do?

Are you sure this isn’t the mirror flopping back in place after the shot? All SLR’s have this, there is a “clunk” when the mirror comes back to viewfinding position…it happens fast, so the camera may shake when it lands….turn off the VR and see if you still feel it. It could well be that you don’t notice it with the shorter lens because of the lighter weight.. I am using an 18-105mm lens on my D90, have not used the VR yet, and after every shot, I do feel the mirror “land.” This is just a characterisitic of SLR cameras. But I will try the VR tomorrow to see if there is a difference. Good question. The difference would be the gyro coming to a stop..and the longer/heavier the lens, the bigger the gyro will have to be.
