Can someone help me find a SLR camera?

Im looking for a good SLR camera, for photography. Its mainly for capturing high quality landscapes and close up of flowers, bugs etc. Its really confusing to find a one, with all the different cameras on the internet..

I want a SLR camera with all these features:
- interchangeable lenses
- 9 megapixels or more
- in RAW format
- 5X or more optical zoom
- USB connection
- automatic and manual modes
- minimal shutter lag
- long life battery
- LCD (and the ability to switch it off)

Optional:
- AF assist lamp
- weatherproofing
- hot shoe
- optical image stabilizer

Please comment your sugestion. Websites are good too. Points for the best answer! Cheers
oh i forgot to add that my buget is $1000

Digital SLR cameras don’t have lenses with any “X” figure. You have your choice of lenses from fisheye to extreme telephoto lenses.

All the prime lenses have on zoom factor and others like the 18-200 mm lens works out to 11x, but again, that is only important on cameras which cannot use different lenses.

You have limited yourself to just a couple of cameras since you want live view … unless you are expecting to use it as an expensive P&S camera, holding the over 2 pound camera at arm’s length, is just asking for camera blur, especially with long lenses

Image stabilization is in the lens … because they have the most successful design … attempting to stabilize all cameras by using the cameras sensor is a compromise and mostly a marketing scheme as is the pixel count.

Look at the Nikon D90 as a start …

For landscapes, you will find the 12-24 mm lens works the best
Shooting close ups of bugs, a macro lens like the 60 mm or 105 mm lens
For the most all in one lens, the 18-200 mm VR lens is the best.
