Is your Polaroid 600 camera broken if the green light doesn’t go on?

I’ve had a Polaroid camera for a few months and when I would lift up the top hinge, the green light would go on. Now, it doesn’t do it anymore, but it does still make some sort of noise if I listen to it closely. Is it still able to be used?

No light would indicate that the battery is dead.

Any of the Polaroid film that you may find would be expired (October 2009). The replacement film, PX 600 is fresh but is expensive.
