Do you know anything about Polaroid Transfers?

I’ve seen many polaroid transfers(If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go search it in yahoo pictures) and they are so beautiful. Unfortunately, I only have Polaroid 600 film and camera. I realize that I need 690 or 699 film, but I just do not have the camera or the money to buy the camera. I know that there is something like a printer thing that you use to transfer 35mm slides into 699 polaroids, but I don’t really understand them.

So, I guess my question is do you know how I can do a polaroid transfer with 600 polaroid film? Or, how do you use the printer like machine thing(if that even makes sense)?

You can’t make transfers with the 600 type film. The 669 Film, which was the favorite type of film to be used with transfers, is a peel-apart type film.

There are a couple of different slide printers that you can use to make transfers. The Vivitar Slide printer and the Daylab polaroid printer. You need 35mm slides of your images to make transfers using these printers.

Check out Sarah Wichlacz’s Polaroid transfer tutorial. You don’t need the slide printer, You can find an old Polaroid packfilm camera to make these images.

I should point out that Polaroid has gone out of the film business at the end of last year, so the 669 film, while still available, is soon to be all gone.

Fuji film makes a replacement for the Polaroid film, FP-100C, but I haven’t heard how well it works with transfers.
