How do I set up my Nikon D3000 with my remote control?
I just got the Opteka Remote Control RC-2 for my Nikon D3000 but I’m not sure how it works. The battery is in there, but there are no lights on and when I press the button, it doesn’t take a picture. Help?
I have the D3000 also. To get the remote to work you have to change the release mode. I use the Nikon ML-L3 remote with mine.
Go into the Menu, then to the camera icon. Then go to “Release Mode”. Then select one of the remote settings.
Or another way to change it without going into the menu is by pressing the button on the bottom left side of your camera, the magnifying glass. Then on the screen, on the right side, there is a release mode setting, underneath the ISO setting. You can select one of the remote settings in there too.
