Question about the Sony Cybershot camera?

I just bought the Sony Cybershot Dsc-S500 last night at Radio Shack (6MP). It says when I look up technical details that this camera has both a microphone and a speaker. I think I see a microphone on the front of the camera but when I try to play back video, I can’t hear anything. Maybe I should try uploading the file to my comp to see if it has sound there??? Thoughts?

You probably just need to turn up the volume on the camera.

However, the video/audio capability of digicams is nowhere as good as that of camcorders. So don’t expect great sound.

Even so, I have some great clips of my 3 year old grandson that I never would have gotten if I had to run for the camcorder!
