cheap way to add zoom lens on canon XS DSLR 18-55?
I have a canon xs SLR with the standard 18-55 is lens.
I want a cheap way to increase the zoom and came across this product

would this work for me as it says it would fit a 58mm lens
also how does the Autofocus still work and how much zoom would i get like eg is it 9x or 6x total
Im a newbee to SLRs
I bought one of these a year or so ago. It was absolute junk. It was not sharp and vignetted at the corners. Back when I got mine it was only $29.95 on eBay and not worth that either. It was so bad I got no bids when I tried to resell it on eBay with a $.99 opening bid! I finally just threw it away because I would have been embarrassed to give it to anyone I knew.
The Canon EF-S 55-250 IS zoom lens is fairly reasonably priced and I have one for my XSi. It is an excellent picture taker. Save your money for a bit if you have to, and get something good which you will be able to get good pictures with.
