Have you got any useful advice for this photo shoot?

Tomorrow ill be shooting eight Brazilian dancers on a theatre stage. It is not a live performance, only a photoshoot, but I assume we will be able to use the full stage lighting. My camera is a Canon 40d which im well accustomed to but have not yet shot this type of thing under this condition. Today I purchased a a Canon 550ex flash to help with the exposures, Ive been told using it on ttl mode is quite easy. My lens is a Sigma 18-200mm os. I will be shooting them doing their routine and also posing. My instinct is telling me to shoot in aperture priority mode [with highlight priority on] between iso 200-400. Would this be correct based on the information given? Would you have any other advice based on the above [however simple or otherwise]?
Should I always shoot at high aperture settings 3.5-5.6 or should I sometimes use shorter ones [for the group]?

This totally depends on how you want your shots to be. Artistic factual narrative etc etc to create the effect you need
